My sad, sad attempt at chocolate mustaches without using a mold. Yes, I tried to freehand some mustaches onto parchment paper using a piping bag and melted chocolate. I then went out and bought a mold. Next time, I'll be ready! (quoting "Home Alone" in case you missed that)

Super cute cupcakes, even if they did mess up (again) on them. Supposed to say, "Stache Bash". Oh well.

Made these invitations for my youngest daughters birthday party. She gets her love of mustaches from her aunt ;)

Paper accessories

That said, a new class being offered at Michael's is "Paper Crown" and "Paper Party". These are some of the things that are made in the two classes.
The crown is GINORMOUS. After wearing it around the store for a few hours (you should have seen the looks I got!), the ribbon had cut my ears. It's HUGE and heavy but very cool.
The name tag is super simple to make, in fact, these classes are geared towards kids! It's a folded medallion style flower, with a scallop punch in the center and a lapel pin on the back. Add some ribbon, and VIOLA!

I am thinking of doing my little princesses next birthday party with these crowns. I will cut out all the pieces first though, there's a lot of them.
You can't see them all too well, I would use different colors for the different layers next time so they pop, but these require a lot of paper, and a lot of pop up glue dots. I would also fold thick ribbon in half for the band next time so as it rests on top of my ears, I don't get cut.

Monkey Birthday

My little monkey just turned 1!!

We had a monkey themed party at a local park. It was a great day, too! If you're from up here in the North West, you know that we haven't had the best weather. Actually, that's an understatement. There was a threat of snow a couple of weeks ago :(

In all the turmoil that we have had to endure in the last few weeks (VERY long story, we lost two family members within four days. Very hard on us), it was a welcome treat to have sunshine, happiness and cake... all on the same day.

Whoooo's birthday?

I made this card for a lady in my community. I believe it's for her nieces 1st birthday :) So many layers, so much texture. i LOVE it! Some fun things I did on this card: --distressed using sandpaper and razor blades --paper pieced the owl (stamped him in pink first, cut out his eyes & belly, then glued them on top of a brown stamped image) --made a paper medalion (maybe this will be the next tutorial I do?) --threaded a (very) cool button with patterned paper instead of thread

when she returns from winter camp, there's a family potluck at church. instead of bringing a dish to share, i'm taking almost 100 cupcakes!

Tissue paper birthday card

Well, the focal point is obviously that ginormous, incredible yellow flower!! It's yellow tissue paper, folded over several times, ran through the cuttlebug using a flower sizzix die. Kept it together and embellished at the same time with a rhinestone brad. Patterned paper is feux stitched, layered on white cardstock that was dry embossed with dots. Sentiment (SU) is stamped with pink on white, layered on green. Used pink ribbon to tie it all together. Happy birthday, Lexi! Sent from Yahoo! Mail on Android

Girl bday invite

Made this for my daughters birthday invitations. The only thing she cared about was pink glitter, and that image (girl walking the poodle). The image is from the stampin up set "she's all that". I stamped her in versamark ink and heat embossed her with a mixture of black embossing powder and pink glitter. I used 3 little dots of pink stickles on the edge of her paper. The sentiment, "let's party", is part of a michaels dollar bin acrylic set. I stamped it in pink and wrote over it with my sakura glitter pen. The edges of the black paper underneath are scalloped with my martha stewart rolling handheld scallopper. Patterned paper is k & co. Best place to get this is michaels with your 40% off coupon, just fyi. Ribbon is also from michaels. well she liked it, I think its adorable, let's hope they make it to the parents! Sent from Yahoo! girl party invitation tag

Made this for my daughters 12th birthday party, a "glam" party theme. Paper is k & company and vintage sheet music. Used my Slice for the wings, the girl (both cartridge) and the cut out of "party" ( cartridge). Glitter pens and ink distressing round it all out. Here's hoping her birthday is loverly! My fabulous friend just turned 21!!

This card is 5x5 made on white CS. All patterned paper is from Stampin' Up's Simply Scrappin' "friends & flowers". Brown ribbon is from Michaels. Used this great acrylic stamp set called "cheers", think its retired from Close To My Heart. I stamped the glass in colorboxes opaque silver on white CS and cut out. Stamped liquid in SU's wild wasabi on whitw CS and adhered to glass. Lined top of rim of glass with liquid glue then dipped it in SU's green chunky glitter. When glass was fully assembled I put it on top of a thin piece of plastic (like the cellophane bag my last set of envelopes came in) and used exacto knife to cut out plastic replica. This replica was placed on top of the glass to make it look like glass. Used scrap of confetti white paper to mount glass to card.

Cherry was stamped onto red vellum and carefully cut out. Limes were stamped in SU's certainly celery.
